The First Days
We want your child to feel happy and safe. Each child is allocated a key person who will work with you to help your child to settle into preschool life. Each key person has a group name so the children can have an experience of belonging, our key group names are Butterflies, Ladybirds, Caterpillars, snails and ants. You are welcome to stay for as many sessions as you wish while your child settles.
Lunch
If your child will be attending preschool all day please can you provide them a packed lunch which is clearly labelled with their name. At lunch the children have their own personal placemats to encourage good sitting, name recognition and to create a sense of belonging within their key groups.
Please can we ask that only water is provided for lunch as a drink to encourage healthy living and good tooth hygiene.
Allergies
We currently have an individual within the team with a severe nut allergy, please help us by not including any nut based products, peanut butter or Nutella in your child’s packed lunch. Please also check that food such as cereal bars don’t contain nuts.
The staff member does not have to eat or touch the nuts to have a severe reaction, there can be particles of nuts in the air and the individual can have a severe reaction.

Children learn best through exploring, whether this by touch, smell, taste or sight. With this in mind please send your child into preschool in clothes that you won’t mind them getting dirty! We do have aprons available during activities but the children may still get messy.
We encourage children to gain the skills to look after themselves, including taking themselves to the toilet. Easy-to-manage clothing will help with this. e.g. no dungarees as some children can struggle to manage them independently.
If your child is beginning to potty train please could you put them in 'pull-ups' as these are easier for them to manage themselves.
Sensible soft play shoes with covered toes should be worn. Please be aware that wellies are not to be your child's main footwear option, please clink on the link below to our sway regarding welly boots:
We have a small selection of uniform for sale at pre-school (these are not compulsory), if you would like to order some please speak to a member of staff.
